5 Things to do on Lake Como for Valentine’s Day
Wondering how to celebrate Valentine’s Day in Lake Como? The opportunity to spend the most romantic day of the year in the world’s most romantic place feels like a dream come true. Unfortunately, as seasonality has an impact on Valentine’s Day on Lake Como (many establishments are closed during the winter months), it is not always evident what you can do in February with your beloved.
However, there are still many things you can do on Lake Como to show your Valentine how much they mean to you.
1. A trip to Balcone d’Italia
Balcone d’Italia is a hillside terrace located on the Swiss/Italian border where you can enjoy the silence and the natural beauty of the territorio. It is the perfect place to be alone with your loved one so you can enjoy the captivating views and landscapes together. Why not put together a picnic to savour the moment?
If you are lucky, the local bar might be open, where you will have the chance to have a romantic aperitif at an altitude of 1320m.
When on the way down from Balcone d’Italia, be sure to take a break at the ‘Big Bench’ (or ‘Panchina Gigante’ in Italian) installation in the Intelvi valley. Co-ordinates: 45.945850, 9.063514

2. Walk along the Passeggiata degli Innamorati in Varenna
Crowned the most romantic village on the lake, why not take a trip to Varenna to walk along the Passeggiata degli Innamorati (Lovers’ Walk)? The narrow promenade hugs the cliff-face, promising magical 180-degree views of the lake. At the end of the walk, take a stroll around the picturesque lakeside village with its cosy cafés and colourful houses – the photo opportunities are endless. A must-do for Valentine’s Day.

3. A private flight in a seaplane
Want to pull out all the stops this Valentine’s Day? There’s nothing that says ‘I love you’ more than a private flight in a seaplane!
Established in 1930, Aero Club Como is the holder of a Guinness World Record as the oldest seaplane flight organization and seaplane flight school in the world. Aero Club Como promises thrills, exceptional landscapes, and a truly unique experience of Lake Como from another point of view.
