Villa Carlotta Invites to Take a Virtual Garden Walk
Villa Carlotta invites for a virtual journey inside its famous garden. During the virtual walk, you will discover the main treasures of the garden: large trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants.
Villa Carlotta is located in a breath-taking landscape scenario in Tremezzo on Lake Como. This villa is popular also for its magnificent botanical garden. The garden occupies the area of eight hectares which is home to cedars, palms, redwoods, plane trees, bamboo and other exotic plants.
Today Villa Carlotta is a museum. Its art collection includes works by Canova, Thorvaldsen, Migliara and Hayez and items of furniture from the time of the various owners.
Marquis Giorgio Clerici of Milan constructed the villa in the late-seventeenth century.
During World War I the Villa Carlotta was confiscated by the Italian state and its administration committed to the Ente Villa Carlotta.
