Villa del Balbianello: the Most Beautiful Villa on Lake Como

Villa del Balbianello is the most refined and exclusive villa on Lake Como. It is located on a peninsula in Lenno. Villa del Balbianello is often called the most beautiful villa on Lake Como. This stunning, luxurious villa is hugely popular not only with tourists but also with famous film directors. For example, it was the cinematic location for the film Star Wars. he Villa Balbianello has acquired its present splendid appearance thanks to its last owner Guido Monzino. There are unique exhibitions of Chinese art, 150 paintings from the seventeenth century made on glass by artists from the Veneto region, artefacts from the pre-Columbian era and eighteenth-century English and French furniture. The villa is also home to the polar sledge that Monzino used to travel around Antarctica.

At the moment, the villa belongs to the FAI Foundation, and operates as a Museum.
