The highly anticipated Michelin Guide 2026 was unveiled in Parma on 19th of November 2025, revealing 394 Michelin-starred restaurants across Italy. This landmark 71 edition celebrates the rich and evolving Italian culinary scene, showcasing 25 new entries highlighting a commitment to richness, innovation, and sustainability.

Lombardy continues to dominate the rankings, securing its place as a culinary leader with 64 Michelin-starred establishments featured in this year’s guide—more than any other region.

However, the 2026 edition sees no changes in the Lake Como area. All previously recognised Michelin-starred restaurants have retained their accolades, with no new additions to the prestigious list. The region’s dining scene remains steady, maintaining its exceptional standards and reinforcing its status as a destination for exquisite gastronomy.

The 2026 Michelin Guide reflects Italy’s ability to honour its rich culinary traditions while embracing innovation, solidifying its position as a global leader in gastronomy.

One of the Michelin star went to the restaurant Il Sereno Al Lago (previously called Berton Al Lago) in Torno. The restaurant used to have a Michelin star in the past years during the collaboration with Chef Andrea Berton. After the departure of Berton, il Sereno lost its star. But in 2023, Chef Raffaele Lenzi managed to reconquer the Michelin star. 

The new entry in the Michelin Guide 2023, Trattoria Contemporanea, located in Lomazzo, has also retained its star for 2025. This fine dining restaurant was born in the Factory building and achieved outstanding recognition precisely one year after opening. Trattoria contemporanea is an ambitious cuisine project that exalts innovation and the art of ‘knowing how to dare’. The restaurant surprises from the outset with contemporary cuisine, combining experiences, flavours and vibrations captured worldwide. 

Davide Marzullo, Chef of Trattoria contemporanea, offers a simple cuisine, recognisable, with a contemporary twist. Trattoria brings poor products presented in a fresh and youthful way to the dishes. Products such as foie gras and caviar are not used, but dishes are made from the most uncomplicated ingredients to enhance the flavours to the maximum.

Most of the Michelin-starred restaurants of Lake Como reconfirmed their starts. The Kitchen,  Il Cantuccio, Materia are in the list of Michelin Guide 2025.

Michelin Guide is the oldest European hotel and restaurant reference guide, which awards up to three Michelin stars for excellence.
