The castle Castello di Urio located in Carate di Urio, was built at the end of the seventeenth century on the ruins of an ancient fortress. The owners of the castle were famous and influential figures: Maria Theresa, Archduchess of Austria, Queen of Hungary and Queen of Bohemia; wife of Charles Albert, king of Sardinia; the king of Italy Umberto II, Duke of Melzi and others.
