Not Only Silk: Como Factory Presents Cedar Furniture Collection
Riva 1920, a famous factory in the province of Como, has launched a unique collection of cedar furniture. The furniture line for outdoor terraces or gardens is made of environmentally friendly materials. Solid wood is processed manually; therefore it preserves the wood texture. In addition, the furniture has cracks and a typical pattern, which creates the effect of being in the wild. This is a hallmark of the cedar collection.
Riva 1920 was founded in Cantu (Province of Como) in 1920. It specialises in manufacturing solid wood furniture. Currently, its products are recognised worldwide. The factory even produces items for museums. The company was established on the site of a small family workshop, which produced interior items in a classic style. The factory operation dramatically changed in the 90s, after one of the owners had visited New York. A short time later, they started using recycled wood, as well as natural glues, waxes, and oils in manufacturing furniture.
