From 6th December 2024 to 6th January 2025, Villa Bernasconi in Cernobbio will come alive with a magical and elegant festive transformation. This historic Liberty-style villa, home to the innovative “talking museum,” will transport visitors back to the early 20th century, combining period decor, contemporary art, and a timeless holiday charm curated by interior stylist Silvia Pio.
The festive season will centre around an original Christmas tale set in the 1900s, written by Cristina Quadrio. Visitors will journey through the villa’s beautifully decorated rooms, following the inhabitants as they prepare for the holidays. From crafting festive menus to penning letters to Father Christmas, the interactive experience blends cross-media storytelling with cutting-edge technology to create an immersive cultural and recreational adventure.
Children can embark on a 3D fantasy journey in the villa’s turret, flying with Santa in a hot air balloon over Cernobbio to help deliver presents (advance booking required). The villa’s decorations honour its Liberty heritage, featuring natural garlands, floral arrangements, and a grand Christmas tree adorned with butterflies and elegant white fabrics, while vintage furniture and artefacts evoke a nostalgic festive ambience.
Complementing the programme is an exhibition of early 20th-century toy horses from the Museum of the Toy Horse, displayed alongside artwork by Wanda Broggi.
