Explore the Beauty and History of Tremezzina

Embark on a scenic hike through the breathtaking surroundings of Villa del Balbianello, discovering the rich history and natural beauty of the Tremezzina area.

Starting from the Villa’s ticket office, follow a stretch of the Greenway del Lago di Como.
Visit the Romanesque Church of Sant’Andrea, a significant architectural landmark.
Ascend through the charming village of Molgisio and admire the UNESCO-listed chapels of the Sacro Monte della Beata Vergine del Soccorso.
Walk along a panoramic trail with stunning views of the lake, mountains, and olive groves.
Enjoy a private visit to the medieval Torre del Soccorso (FAI heritage site), also known as the Barbarossa Tower, offering breathtaking views of Lake Como’s only island, Isola Comacina.
On the return route, visit La Velarca (FAI heritage site), the Romanesque Church of Sant’Agata, and pass through the picturesque villages of Carate and Campo, with an exterior view of the 17th-century Villa Balbiano.
Conclude the tour at Villa del Balbianello with a climb to the top of Dosso di Lavedo for panoramic vistas, followed by a visit to the historic gardens and villa.

The hikes will be led by Mountain Guide Alessandra Villani in groups of up to 16 people. On the first Saturday of each month, naturalist Martina Balatti will join the tour to discuss biodiversity conservation in the Lake Como region.
