Special Aperitif Evenings at Villa Fogazzaro Roi

  • July 12, 2025 18:00 - July 26, 2025 21:30

On Saturdays: 12, 19 and 26 July 2025, starting form 18:00 Villa Fogazzaro Roi invites to a unique aperitif experience in its enchanting roof garden. Overlooking the serene Lake Lugano, the garden is adorned with an array of white potted flowers and ancient cultivated plants, creating a magical ambience.

This roof garden, cherished by the writer Antonio Fogazzaro as a haven for contemplation and poetic inspiration, promises an unforgettable evening. Guests will also have the opportunity to explore the villa’s interior, accompanied by readings from Fogazzaro’s renowned novel, “Piccolo mondo antico”.

Don’t miss this chance to soak in Lake Lugano’s timeless beauty while enjoying a special aperitif in the historic and inspiring surroundings of Villa Fogazzaro Roi.

Perched on the Italian side of Lake Lugano, just 10 km from the city of Lugano, Villa Fogazzaro offers a breathtaking view of the serene lake. This secluded and intimate 19th-century upper-middle-class residence retains its exquisite original furniture, paintings, and objets d’art, perfectly capturing the ambience of Antonio Fogazzaro’s “Piccolo Mondo Antico.”

Open from March to December, Villa Fogazzaro provides guided tours, making it an ideal venue for small private events and exclusive experiences. The villa is located in Oria, a quaint village on the Comascan shore of Lake Lugano, where time seems to stand still, preserving the charm of the 19th century when the novelist Antonio Fogazzaro lived here. The villa, which inspired and served as the setting for his renowned novel “Little World of the Past, published in 1896, remains a testament to this era.

The Villa Fogazzaro also features a stunning roof garden with panoramic views of the largely untouched lake wilderness and the enchanting scent of olea fragrans.

Practically unchanged since Fogazzaro’s time, Villa Fogazzaro offers a delightful glimpse into the bourgeois world of late 19th-century Lombardy, cherished by one of Italy’s literary greats.
