Gravedona ed Uniti, Lake Como – Thursday 14 August 2025 – As Ferragosto approaches, the picturesque town of Gravedona ed Uniti prepares for one of the most enchanting summer traditions on Lake Como: the 79th Concorso delle Imbarcazioni Illuminate, followed by a spectacular fireworks display over the lake.
From 21:00 onwards, the lungolago will be aglow with a procession of beautifully illuminated boats, meticulously crafted by local volunteer groups during the winter months. This cherished event, first held in 1946 after the Second World War, has become the highlight of the year for the people of Gravedona, blending history, artistry, and community spirit.
The celebrations extend beyond the lakefront, with lively piazzas filled with food stalls, the enticing aromas of regional delicacies, and live music creating a festive atmosphere perfect for families and visitors alike.
The evening culminates in the much-anticipated Grande Spettacolo Pirotecnico—a breathtaking fireworks show that lights up the night sky and reflects magically on the waters of Lake Como, captivating spectators of all ages.
Organised by Pro Loco Gravedona and the Comune di Gravedona ed Uniti, this event remains a must-see on the Lake Como summer events calendar.
