Bollywood Stars Celebrated Wedding at Lake Como

The region of Lake Como, without doubt, is one of the most popular wedding destinations in Italy. Even though the wedding season here officially lasts from March to October, the number of people willing to get married in November or January is growing every year.

The famous Bollywood couple of actors Deepika Padukoneand Ranveer Singh decided to exchange vows against the backdrop of fascinating landscapes in late autumn. The celebrities, who have 43.2 million Instagram subscribers held two ceremonies at Lake Como—the classic one on November 14 and the one according to the Indian traditions on November 15.

Dates of such an important event were not chosen by chance. It was on 14 November 2013 that the film Ram–Leela with Deepika and Ranveer in the lead roles was released. Staring in the film marked the beginning of their relationship.

These Indian film stars rented the luxury hotel Castadiva Resort & Spa and held one of the ceremonies in the grounds of Villa Balbianello. For the record, the villa is lucky to have its own church, pier, garden, and a whole complex of buildings dating back to the 18th century.

It is noteworthy that this year has seen a record number of stars, including Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, George and Amal Clooney, who have visited Lake Como. Moreover, it hosted Dolce & Gabbana’s new couture runway show, filming of Murder Mystery with Jennifer Aniston Adam Sandler and Burnt Orange Heresy (Bollywood).
