This theatre tour is trendy not only among tourists but also among people from Como, curious to learn more about the “behind the scenes” of the central city hall.

Teatro Sociale di Como, also known as the Como Social Theatre, is a historic Italian theatre located in the city of Como in the Lombardy region. It was designed by architect Giuseppe Cusi and opened in 1813, making it one of the oldest theatres in Italy.

The theatre has a neoclassical style and features ornate decorations and an extensive stage. Over the years, it has hosted various performances, including plays, operas, concerts, and dance shows.
Today, Teatro Sociale di Como is a cultural hub for the city, attracting both locals and Lake Como visitors with its diverse program of events. It continues to be an important part of Como’s artistic heritage and a symbol of Italian theatrical tradition.

The Teatro Sociale di Como is also known as ‘Piccola Scala’ since it housed the Teatro alla Scala after the bombing in 1943.
