A spectacular light experience is transforming one of Lake Como’s most dramatic natural sites into an immersive journey through nature and imagination. Orrido Magic Lights – The Way of Water invites visitors to explore a glowing, dreamlike world where water, light and landscape come together in a powerful sensory experience, open until 20 March.
As night falls, the ancient gorge becomes a suspended realm between reality and wonder. Illuminated installations, glowing creatures and artistic light effects guide both adults and children along a magical route inspired by the elements of water, earth, air and fire. The result is an emotional and immersive walk where wild nature meets contemporary visual art, following the constant, evocative presence of water.
The event takes place at the Orrido di Bellano, a spectacular natural canyon carved by the river Pioverna over thousands of years. Wooden walkways suspended above waterfalls and rock walls allow visitors to experience the power of nature up close, making the Orrido one of the most fascinating geological attractions on Lake Como.
The Orrido is located in Bellano, a lakeside village on the eastern shore of Lake Como, known for its historic centre, lakeside walks and strong cultural identity. Bellano is increasingly recognised as a destination where natural heritage, art and contemporary events come together throughout the year.
Orrido Magic Lights – The Way of Water is also part of the Milano Cortina 2026 Cultural Olympiad, within the programme promoted by the Coordination of Villas and Museums of Lake Como. The initiative contributes to a nationwide cultural journey celebrating Olympic values through art, heritage and landscape, in the lead-up to the 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
