Discover La Velarca, an elegant houseboat moored in a quiet bay facing the enchanting Isola Comacina. With its picturesque setting, romantic history, and architectural charm, La Velarca is a true hidden gem of Lake Como.
Originally the Corriera Tremezzina—a gondola-style boat that transported goods across the lake from 1910 to 1956—it was later transformed into a stylish lakeside retreat by the Norsa family, with the help of a group of renowned architects, famous for designing Milan’s iconic Torre Velasca. From the 1960s onwards, La Velarca became a gathering place for artists and friends, offering respite from the bustle of city life.
After being lovingly restored by FAI (Italian Environmental Fund), following a generous donation from the Norsa family, this unique vessel is once again open to visitors.
