On 17 February, families are invited to take part in a special Carnival event at Villa Carlotta, where nature, creativity and sustainability come together in one of the most atmospheric gardens on Lake Como. The activity is designed for children aged 5 to 10, starts at 14:30 pm, lasts approximately 90 minutes and is included in the Villa Carlotta entrance ticket.
The afternoon begins with a playful walk through the historic gardens, during which children discover the park’s real “superheroes”: its monumental trees. By observing bark, shapes and foliage, young participants are encouraged to explore nature in an engaging and imaginative way.
This is followed by a creative workshop inspired by an illustrated book, where each child creates a personalised, colourful booklet, transforming the trees into Carnival characters. The activity stimulates observation, storytelling and hands-on creativity while keeping the atmosphere light and fun.
In line with Villa Carlotta’s environmental values, the Carnival celebration avoids traditional confetti and instead introduces seed throwing, a symbolic gesture that promotes care for nature and sustainability.
With its winter garden charm, botanical richness and stunning lake views, Villa Carlotta provides a unique setting for family-friendly events. This Carnival experience offers a meaningful and entertaining way to celebrate the season, combining culture, play and environmental awareness on Lake Como.
